I'm an 18 year old aspiring artist, and here you'll find pictures of my artwork, doodles, sketchbooks and explorations, and maybe occasionally my face! Enjoy, or something. |
Okay, wow, I’ve been gone since May 15th in Europe! Yeah, Europe! I was on a whirlwind trip through Ireland, Wales, England and Paris for eleven days. I got some sketches done though, and had some pretty great adventures. I’m really looking forward to getting some artwork done about it. I’ve been way busy lately! Keep your eyes peeled!

So, wow. I got a lot of feedback since that last update and I appreciate it all! I figured out a bunch of neat tricks in photoshop that really help with this project, especially since I’ve never actually done this before. I’ve been playing around with the colors on it as well. I’d really like to use a red/white/blue color scheme for this, but less saturated and oh, I don’t know. I’ve just been throwing around ideas in my head.
Thoughts, ideas, opinions?
I leave for Europe on Tuesday, guys! That’s so soon! Expect a ton of sketchbook pages from far away lands.
Until next time!

So here’s a little diddy I’ve been working on for a series I’ve started called Real Housewives. I always have lots of good ideas but few actually take root.
So this is obviously rough but at least it’s some of my real work instead of just process stuff. What I did is do the drawing on a sheet of paper, scan it and do digital color over it. I’ve never done it quite like this, so if any of you have any advice for me I’ll gladly take it.
I talked to Katelynn Knick yesterday about how I created an art blog to get my stuff out there and noticed and be less shy about my work, but instead I’ve just gotten more shy about it. I’m way self conscious about the stuff I do, mainly because I have really high standards of myself that I don’t think I meet all the time. So I should probably quit doing that and just be confident with myself and my work and quit being such a baby.
Anyway there you go! Until next time!
Thought I’d show you all progress I’ve made on my Laocoon drawing. I had my Art History final today and it was brutal, but I’m so glad it’s done with. I’m still working hard as ever, and I just got the chance to scan some stuff into my computer so I can start doing some digital color. We’ll see how that goes.
Until next time!
Figure drawing was really nice last night. There were a lot of people which means there were a lot of works to feed off of.
Black = 1 minute gesture poses.
Green=5 minutes

I’m really proud of this one^. I’ve been really trying to get the muscles of the back worked out.
Also, I’ll have finished work on here soon, I promise. I’m just lacking all sorts of motivation and time to get anything finished.
That’s all, folks!
So I got inspired by Jeremy to draw some Michelangelo sculptures from pictures just for practice. I’ve also been needing to work on the male figure since I do so much with the female figure, so here’s what I’ve come up with:

Anybody know where I can get a scanner that’s semi-portable and will work with my mac? I’m really tired of having my image quality ruined because I have to take pictures with my webcam.
In other news -
The semester is almost over (thank the universe because I can barely function) and I’ve developed an addiction to caffeine. Also there’s a girl who plays guitar and sings outside the apartments all the time and I listen to her while I’m working on things and it’s nice. That’s something you all should know.
Uuuuuuuuuuuhhhh I’m no good with words so there you go! Have a great day and love yourself. Okay bye.
I hope everyone keeps this in mind today.
I’m going to be crazy busy this weekend. Any time I’m not working I’m volunteering with dogs and kitties and also at the studio of a local artist/furniture maker. I’m excited but it will be nice to have this weekend over with so I can relax.
Everyone have a lovely day/weekend!

I’m in an “I’m a hardcore housewife and fuck you” kind of mood today. Enjoy this little doodle!

My day has consisted of coffee and my sketchbook and not much else. Here are some doodles I’ve done over the past few days, based on people I know.
Life is so crazy busy right now! Is it okay if I just eat some ice cream and hide in a hole until August? That would be nice.

Figure Study
9 in x 12 in
Black and Sanguine compressed charcoal
Well I went to Life Drawing at Philbrook museum last night instead of my student show, and then this happened. I got some really nice drawings and was really surprised by myself. I usually work in my sketchbook with a pencil or pen, but this time I worked big (9 x 12 and 18 x 24) and even used some charcoal/sanguine! Aside from the little claw hand resting on her leg, I’m very pleased. Enjoy!
